a brief excerpt

"If the Church's worship is faithful, it will eventually be subversive of the culture surrounding it, for God's truth transforms the lives of those nurtured by it"

Post Scriptum

It is remarkable how God can prepare you for months to hear a message and it can still hit you very hard.

Furthermore it is remarkable in a negative way how badly the season of Lent ties in with papers and exams.

Remarkable

This morning a long time friend of mine walked into the library - it is remarkable how the presence of a friend can encourage someone.

Yesterday, I needed to hear something specific - it is remarkable how encouraging and godly words of friends can be without them knowing

I think a lot, in fact I worry a lot, sometimes this is warranted sometimes it is not - it is remarkable how God's plan trumps my worrying

The Dinos

I got to admit - ever since I moved to Canada I have had a renewed passion for the sport of basketball, especially the Toronto Raptors. Last year I was able to see 3 games! That was pretty amazing, the first game I saw was Toronto's win over LeBron James and Cleveland that many have described as a turn around for Toronto's season, the last game was in the playoffs vs. the Nets and Vince Carter. That crowd was booming! The Raps won as well, however, they got eliminated in game 6.
This year I have been following my team as well, and I have to so I am pretty satisfied, I am happy where they are, but there is room for improvement. Let's finish of the regular season strong. I can't wait for March 19th to see them against the Miami Heat. Anyway, now you know, I love basketball. It's nice.

Random library doings

Something I stole from Brian Dijkema's old blog.

1. Grab the nearest book
2. Turn to page 23
3. Take line #5
4. Post it on your blog

It is that sorry history that both lies at the root of the postmodern attack on totlalizing power of reason and gives shape to the postmodern imperative to include the "other" and to make room for the "different".

Willem needs

I think I don't have to explain this post, but I will anyways. I typed in "Willem needs" on google, and this is apparently what I need. I mean if Katrina can put it on her blog, so can I! So without further ado the 10 things Willem needs.

Willem needs another session (what for? I feel quite sane)
Willem needs help from SARA with running (Well, I am not an excelled sprinter, but Sara can come by anytime)
Willem needs her help rescuing the child of a vampire he has been guarding (That is just creepy)
Willem needs you (Yah, I need you!!)
Willem needs to get out in the world and realize what he has at home (Love you mom!)
Willem needs glasses (I have some already, but google is right, I think they might break soon)
Willem needs to have his face smacked in with a German English dictionary (Well, that is a concerning image)
Willem needs his coffee, d*mm*t! he needs it with sugar and creamer! (It is true that is how I drink my coffee)
Willem needs to renew his passport anyway (True again, my Dutch passport expires in December
Willem needs to take him in the back room and have THE talk with him . . . you know the one about " you never say this to a woman " talk (Ya, I guess I need to have that talk with someone, maybe with my roommate Steve)
